Working your scouted leads - and what lead finding costs

Modified on Sat, 11 Jul at 9:32 AM

Find Leads turns a one-sentence description of your ideal customer into verified contacts sitting in your pipeline, each with a first message already drafted. You see the exact cost estimate before you start, you are billed only on what is actually used, and if you connect your own provider keys, scouts run free.

Launch a scout

  1. Open Marketing > Find Leads.
  2. In Who do you want to reach?, describe your target in plain text (for example "wedding planners and venue coordinators in Austin, TX") or paste a LinkedIn / Sales Navigator search URL.
  3. Set How many leads - anywhere from 1 to 200. Heads up: only about 1 in 3 found leads has a reachable email, so if you want a certain number of contactable people, ask for roughly 3x as many.
  4. Optionally add Areas (comma-separated, like "Orlando, Tampa, Miami") to focus the search geographically.
  5. Check Your trade - this field is read-only and comes from your organization profile. It drives the tone and angle of the messages the scout writes.
  6. Optionally fill in What do you want to offer them? so the first-touch drafts lead with a concrete pitch.
  7. Decide on the deep research toggle ("Research each lead before writing"). On means slower but a richer, more personal first message for every lead.
  8. Review the cost estimate box, then click Start finding leads.

Watch it run

Every run appears in the Recent scouts list at the bottom of the page with a live progress bar. A scout moves through six phases in order:

  1. Finding people
  2. Finding emails
  3. Verifying
  4. Researching (if you enabled deep research)
  5. Writing first touch
  6. Adding to pipeline

Alongside the phase, each scout shows running counts: Found, Emails, Verified, Written, and Added. You can leave the page - the scout keeps working and the list stays current when you come back.

Where your leads land

When a scout finishes, every verified contact lands in your sales pipeline at the inbound stage, ready to work like any other deal. The first-touch message written for each lead waits in your Work Board (your approval queue) - nothing is sent until you review and approve it. From there you can edit the draft, approve it, or cancel it, exactly like any other AI-written message in KM Hub.

What lead finding costs

  • Pay as you go: you see the exact estimate before you start, and you are only billed for what is actually used. If a scout finds fewer leads than you asked for, you pay for what it actually did.
  • Nothing to set up: KM Hub provides the lead-source accounts out of the box.
  • Bring your own keys and run free: if you connect your own provider keys, scouts run at no charge from KM Hub.

Quick web search (no pipeline run)

Below the scout form there is a lighter option: Search the web yourself. Type anything, get candidate cards back to review, and add only the keepers to your pipeline by hand. No emails are written or sent, and it costs just a few cents per search. It is a good fit when you want to eyeball prospects before committing to a full scout.

Keep it running automatically

If you like the results, check Keep this ongoing (auto top-up my pipeline) on the form, or set up the admin auto-scout panel. KM Hub will then re-run the search on its own whenever your open pipeline runs thin, bounded by a daily cap and a monthly budget. See "Turn on lead finding to keep your pipeline full" in this folder for the full setup.
