KM Hub gives you two ways to get money to your team without leaving the app: Team Pay, a direct-payout rail currently in early access, and PayPal payout batches through your own PayPal business account. This article covers what each one does, what it costs, and how to set it up.
Team Pay: direct payouts from Settings
Team Pay lives in Settings > Team Pay. The tab explains the pay-your-team-directly model and holds your payout ledger.
What you'll find on the tab
- Request early access - Team Pay runs on a direct-payout rail (powered by Trolley) that is rolling out gradually. Clicking the button opts you in to early access. This is money-neutral: requesting access doesn't move any money or charge you anything.
- Team Pay seats card - seats are how Team Pay is billed, at $5 per seat. The card shows the members paid this month, so you always know what your seat count is based on.
- Pay runs list - your history of pay runs, with a Refresh button to pull the latest status.
- Export payouts CSV - download the full payout ledger as a CSV, ready for your bookkeeper or accountant.
Getting started
- Open Settings and switch to the Team Pay tab.
- Click Request early access.
- Once you are in, your pay runs appear in the list on this tab, and you can export the ledger anytime with Export payouts CSV.
PayPal payouts: use your own PayPal business account
If your team is already on PayPal, connect your own PayPal business app and pay members via payout batches. This setup lives at hub.kivimedia.co/?page=paypal-payouts.

Connect your PayPal app
- Sign in at developer.paypal.com with your PayPal business account and create (or open) a REST API app. The How to get your credentials card on the page walks you through this.
- Copy the app's Client ID and Client secret. Sandbox and live have separate keys, so pick the pair that matches the mode you select on the page.
- Paste them into the Client ID and Client secret fields and click Connect. Connecting is admin-only, and your credentials are verified against PayPal before being stored - they are kept server-side and never shown again (only a masked ID appears on the page).
A good habit: start in sandbox mode to confirm everything looks right, then switch to your live keys.
After you connect
- The page shows a connected card with a Disconnect option if you ever need to unlink the app.
- Payout batches run through your PayPal account and are listed in the payout batches table, with columns for People, Status, and Detail - your at-a-glance record of who was paid in each batch and whether it went through.
Which one should you use?
- Team Pay - the built-in rail, billed at $5 per seat for members paid that month, with the pay-run ledger and CSV export inside Settings.
- PayPal payouts - best when your team already lives on PayPal and you want batches to run through your own PayPal business account.
Whichever rail moves the money, the amounts you owe each person come from their member record - wages and pay history are covered in "A team member's record" in this folder.
