You built a follow-up sequence and a lead finally wrote back. This article explains exactly what KM Hub does with that reply, and when a sequence stops on its own.
The moment a reply arrives
KM Hub reads every reply to a sequence email, works out what kind of reply it is, and acts right away, before the next step could go out:
- Interested, a question, or an objection: the automatic cadence stops for that deal and the live conversation is handed to you. The AI never drops a canned follow-up step on top of a real conversation.
- Not interested: every active sequence for that deal stops. No further touches.
- Unsubscribe or wrong person: the sequences stop, and the address is also added to a suppression list so no sequence will ever email it again.
- Out of office or an automatic reply: the sequence does not stop and does not waste a step on an away message. It simply waits and tries the next step later.
So the short answer is: yes, a real reply stops the automatic emails. You do not need to unenroll the deal yourself.
Other things that stop a sequence
A sequence also stops on its own when the deal itself is finished:
- The deal is won, or its stage moves to booked or completed. Once they book, the nudges stop.
- The deal is lost or abandoned.
- The contact unsubscribed or is marked do not contact.
One exception, and it is on purpose: re-engagement sequences, the ones triggered by Occasion Radar (event anniversaries), Child birthday, or the around-the-booking follow-ups, are aimed at past clients. Winning the deal does not stop those. A lost deal or an unsubscribe still stops everything, always.
Your safety net either way
Sequence steps are drafted into your Approval Queue on schedule, so you still see each message before it goes to the lead. And you can stop things yourself at any time: flip a single sequence's Active switch off, or use the Automatic follow-up master toggle at the top of the Sequences page to pause the whole engine.
