Add a client the fast way: paste a URL or snap a business card (AI Fill)

Modified on Sat, 11 Jul at 9:32 AM

You rarely need to type out a new client's details by hand. The Create Client modal in KM Hub is AI-first: paste a link to their LinkedIn, company site, or Facebook page and click AI Fill, or upload a photo of their business card, and the contact fields fill themselves. You review, tweak, and save.

Where to open it

There are two ways to reach the Create Client modal:

  • On the Clients page, click the New Client button.
  • From anywhere in KM Hub, tap the floating + button (the quick-create menu) and pick New Client. The same menu also offers New Event, Appointment, Payment, and Quick Note, so it is worth remembering.

Option 1: paste a URL and click AI Fill

  1. Copy a link that represents the person - their LinkedIn profile, their company's website, or their Facebook page all work.
  2. Paste it into the URL field at the top of the modal.
  3. Click AI Fill. The AI reads the page and extracts the contact details into the form fields.
  4. Review what it found, correct anything that looks off, and click Save.

This is the fastest path when a lead comes in by referral or you just looked someone up: one paste, one click, done.

Option 2: snap a business card

Got a stack of cards from a networking event or a bridal show? The modal has a photo upload zone for exactly that:

  1. Take a photo of the business card (or use one you already have).
  2. Upload it in the Create Client modal.
  3. AI vision reads the card and fills in the fields for you.
  4. Review and Save.

Card design varies wildly, so always give the extracted fields a quick glance before saving - especially phone numbers.

Option 3: type it in manually

The classic way still works. The modal has manual fields for name, email, phone, company, and city. Fill in whatever you know and click Save. You can always add more detail later from the client's record.

After you save

The new client appears in your Clients roster right away. Click their row to open the full Client Detail page, where you can add an address, source, tags, and status, grant portal access, and start attaching events. See "Inside a client record: the 9 tabs of the Client Detail page" for the tour.

If you have many clients to bring in at once, skip the modal entirely and use the Import CSV button on the Clients page instead - it maps your spreadsheet columns automatically and previews everything before importing.
