Broadcasts: one-off email blasts to a segment

Modified on Sat, 11 Jul at 10:29 AM

A broadcast is a one-off email blast to your clients or leads - a quick announcement, a last-minute availability push, a holiday greeting. Unlike a newsletter, there's no design canvas to assemble: you write (or let the AI write) a message, point it at an audience segment, and send. It's the fastest path from "I need to tell everyone something" to a sent email.

Where to find it

Open the Clients area from the left sidebar and click Broadcasts under Nurture & Reputation. Click New Broadcast to start composing.

The Broadcasts page in KM Hub with the New Broadcast button, described as a one-off email blast to clients or leads, static or AI-written

Compose your broadcast

  1. Give the broadcast a name. This is internal, so name it whatever helps you find it later.
  2. Write the subject line. Subjects support merge tags such as {{company}}, so every recipient sees their own details instead of a generic blast.
  3. Write the message in the body editor. Broadcasts can be static (your exact words) or AI-written, so you can hand the AI the gist and let it draft the copy.

Pick who gets it

  1. Use the audience picker to choose a saved segment. Segments are built on the Segments tab of the Newsletters area, over either clients or leads.
  2. If your audience is leads, use the lead quality filter to narrow the send: Any, High, Medium, or Low. This lets you reserve a promotion for high-quality leads, for example, without building a separate segment.

Test, then send

  1. Enter an address in the test field and click Send test email. Read it in a real inbox - subject, merge tags, links, everything.
  2. When it looks right, click Send to audience. That's the real send, so double-check the segment and the quality filter first.

Depending on your Autopilot settings, broadcast sends may first appear for approval on your Work Board before going out. That review gate is on by default, so nothing blasts your whole list without a human okay unless you've explicitly enabled autopilot for broadcasts.

Broadcast or newsletter?

  • Broadcast: quick, one-off, message-first. Best for announcements and time-sensitive pushes.
  • Newsletter: designed, block-built campaigns with templates, A/B subject testing, scheduling, and open/click analytics. Best for recurring, polished sends.
