Adding contacts by hand, and bringing your whole list in from a CSV

You can type contacts in one at a time or upload your existing list as a file. This shows you where each one lives and what the importer expects.

Two places, two kinds of contact

• Clients holds the people and companies who book you. This is the list your outreach, quotes and invoices work from.
• Contacts holds venues, vendors and other useful people: your supplier directory.

Add one client by hand

1. Open Clients.
2. Press + New Client at the top right.
3. Fill in the details and save. You can search the roster afterwards by name, email or phone.

Bring in a whole list from a CSV

1. On the Clients page, press Import CSV.
2. In the Import clients window, press Choose a CSV file and pick your file. Columns like Name, Email, Phone and Company are mapped for you.
3. Check the summary. It tells you how many contacts it found, which columns it mapped, which it ignored, and shows a preview table of Name, Email and Phone for the first rows.
4. Press Import with the count shown on the button. When it finishes you get a confirmation that your contacts were imported into your client list.

Your file needs a header row plus at least one contact row. If the headers cannot be recognised the importer says so and asks for headings like Name, Email and Phone. Everything that arrives this way is marked with a source of CSV import, so you can tell imported records from ones you typed.

Venues, vendors and other contacts

1. Open Contacts and pick the tab you want.
2. Press + Add Venue, + Add Vendor or + Add Contact. The form takes a name, a category, a contact name, phone, email and notes.

On the venues and vendors tabs there is also Find missing emails, which looks up addresses for the contacts on that tab that do not have one yet, using your own lookup providers. The button shows how many are missing and is greyed out when every contact already has an email.

Good to know

Importing the same file twice adds those people again rather than merging them, so check the roster before you re-import. If you are still setting up your workspace the import button waits until setup finishes, then runs.
