The Sales Playbook (gambits): shape how the AI sells for you

Modified on Sat, 11 Jul at 9:32 AM

The Sales Playbook is where you teach the AI how your business actually sells. It's a list of gambits - individual sales moves and talking points - and every enabled gambit grounds the copy the AI writes for your outreach. Turn a gambit on and the writer can use that move; turn it off and it won't; edit the text and the AI sells it your way.

Start by loading your trade's playbook

You don't have to write a playbook from scratch. KM Hub keeps a global library of vertical playbooks - pre-written gambit sets for different trades. Load the one for your vertical and you get a full working playbook in one click, ready to trim and personalize:

  1. Open the Sales Playbook page.
  2. Use the load vertical playbook option to pull in the gambit set from the global library for your trade.
  3. Review the list - each gambit is now yours to keep, edit, or switch off.

Turn gambits on and off

Every gambit has its own On/Off switch. This is the fastest way to shape the AI's selling style:

  • On - the gambit is part of the AI's toolkit. When it writes outreach, it can lean on this angle, offer, or talking point.
  • Off - the gambit is ignored. The text stays saved, so you can bring it back any time, but the AI won't use it.

If a loaded gambit mentions something you don't offer, just switch it off. No need to delete or rewrite anything to keep your outreach accurate.

Edit a gambit to match your voice

The stock playbook is a starting point - your best sales lines are better. To rewrite a gambit:

  1. Click the pencil icon on the gambit you want to change.
  2. Edit the text: your real pricing angle, your actual guarantee, the phrase that wins you bookings on the phone.
  3. Click Save to keep the change, or Discard to throw it away and keep the original.

How this shapes your outreach

The playbook isn't decorative - enabled gambits directly ground the AI outreach writer. When the AI drafts first-touch emails and follow-ups for your leads and campaigns, it draws on the gambits you've enabled, phrased the way you've edited them. A tight, honest playbook is one of the highest-leverage ways to improve every AI-written message at once: fix a line here and it improves everywhere the AI sells for you.

A practical tip: after your first week of reviewing AI drafts, come back to this page. Anywhere you found yourself repeatedly editing the same claim in drafts, fix it once in the gambit instead.
